Well apparently I’m the worlds worst at blogging nowadays. Oh well. I’m going to catch you up now!
So, competition prep has been going very well! I have lost about 5.5 pounds in the past 3 weeks and have lost 3% body fat, which has brought me to around 13% body fat. I maintained my lean body mass which means I didn’t lose any muscle, that’s great!
I still have a LONG way to go and only 5 short weeks to get there, but I know I can do it.
The hardest thing about bikini competition prep is the low level of carbs I’m allowed to eat. You know me, I love me some carbs! I’m cranky occasionally, usually tired, and can’t lift as much weight as I used to during my regular workouts. I guess it’s part of the process?? I’m just gonna go with it.
Another huge challenge is walking in freakin heels and a bikini. Let me tell you.. It is WAY harder to walk the correct way than you think. My coaches are always saying: booty up, relax your hand, flex your quad, flex your glutes. Wait.. Don’t flex your glutes, smile, look up here, relax your hand, BOOTY UP!!
Yall, after every posing session I have a cramp in my low back for like 2 days. I just imagine I’m trying to touch the top of my ass to the back of my head. Not only am I trying to think of all of those crazy cues from my coaches, but I’m also in heels. I’m a sneaker girl. Maybe in college when I dressed like a street hooker I could have done this easier.. But 3 years after my high heel days, it’s a tad bit more difficult!
I’m no longer allowed oatmeal or rice throughout the day so I’m pretty much eating egg whites, protein shakes, chicken, turkey and lots of veggies. Black coffee and lots of water to drink. As long as I can avoid my mom’s house (where brownies and pies are the norm and diabetics go to die) I am usually right on track with my meal plan.
I’ve enjoyed the process so far, but like I said.. I have a LONG way to go!
Thanks for for follwoing along with my process! I love you all and I appreciate your support!!
Check out my Instagram for pics of the journey along the way! Right now I can’t really attach any pictures to this post because I’m typing on my iPad while I’m about to board a plan to the Olympic trials in Euegene, OR. I’m going to meet up with some awesome and empowered ladies that I know through a running organization known as Oiselle. Go check them out too! They’re creating big waves in the track and field community and the world!!
Love be you all!
